The History of Paradigm Software Development
Paradigm Software Development began with the enthusiasm of two Multnomah Bible College students. Both of them participated in the Greek program and saw a need for a "class ready" computer based Greek study program, which was matched with major Greek study texts. They had both used Greek vocabulary programs in their language study but found there was too much editing necessary to the words or definitions to make them of immediate use. So came about the idea for creating a Greek study tool that would build on the strengths they saw in the existing programs but would take them far beyond what was previously available. They decided to base the Greek vocabulary on a few of the more common Greek textbooks, so the words and definitions were "class ready." One major focus was on designing card editing tools which would be quick and easy to use.Through about two years of programming along with countless hours of research and development time, GreekFlash Pro and Paradigm Software Development were brought into existence. Paradigm Software Development began its relationship with the GRAMCORD Institute early on while still in the development phase of GreekFlash Pro. With the help of the professors at the Institute the original version of GreekFlash Pro came into being in early 1996 and with a notable amount of critical acclaim for a young company. With the completion of the Greek program, they were able to get support, feedback and suggestions from professors who used it with their classes. GRAMCORD graciously offered to help promote GreekFlash Pro, becoming the first distributor of the program.
Since that time the company has grown, but our goal continues to be quality products. Paradigm Software Development has done various other programming jobs. But the one project they keep coming back to, is GreekFlash Pro, and their eagerness is to continue to improve and upgrade the program. Paradigm Software Development is proud to offer the next major version of GreekFlash Pro version 2.0 now.
It has been completely redesigned and contains many new features. One feature that many people asked about, which has been included in this version is card sets which contain prerecorded audio, pronouncing every word in the GreekFlash Pro databases (over 2000 words), this feature also allows the user to record new words.
